2009 Thursday Night 2-Man Scramble Rules
1) Winter rules
a. Both players improve lie in fairway one club length
b. If ball is in rough, player whose ball is used must NOT move ball; playing partner gets one club length, no closer to the hole and must stay in cut of rough.
c. Any ball hit out of fairway and not staked is considered rough.
2) Out of Bounds = White Stakes.
a. Loss of stroke and distance. Hit another from the previous spot.
Hazard = Red Stakes = OPTIONS
a. Hit the ball from where it lies; partner gets one club length but stay in hazard
b. Go back in line of flight as far as you want but take a one stroke penalty.
(Line of flight is from flag to ball and you must go back from that line)
c. Declare unplayable lie. A one stroke penalty but both players can get two club length relief but must stay in hazard.
d. Declare lost ball and hit a new shot from previous spot. One stroke penalty and you must also count the ball that you hit in the hazard. i.e. if off tee, you would be then hitting your 3rd shot. (think provisional)
3) Ground Under Repair
a. Any newly dug ditch in rough or fairway is considered ground under repair. Find the nearest point of relief, no closer to the hole.
b. Gopher or Badger holes result in free drop whether in fairway or rough.
4) Casual Water.
a. Free drop in nearest dry area, no closer to the hole.
5) Putting
a. First ball in the hole ends play for that team on that hole.
b. Gimmies allowed to a maximum of 15 inches. Tim will be selling tape measures for $49.95 (lol).
6) Hole # 2
a. Any ball hit the waste area and played can be picked and placed. Stay in the waste area. If you and in the sand, stay in the sand for the next shot, but you may improve your lie.
7) Hole # 5
a. Out of bounds on left but the stakes on the right do not apply to this hole
8) Hole # 6
a. Out of bounds on both sides. Stakes DO apply.
9). Hole #7
a. The drop area if you hit it into the pond hazard is near the womens tee. You will be hitting your 3rd shot from the tee or the drop area.
b. The apple tree is considered fairway and both players may move one club length no closer to hole. (Different from Monday league)
10) Hole #8
a. The grass around the rock is considered fairway. You may move your ball one club length.
11) All players will hit from the blue tees. (No 80+ rule) (different from Monday)
12) Hole #9 Grass bunker temporarily is Ground Under Repair - drop no closer to hole.
